Jl. Tamansari 64, Bandung 40116, Jawa Barat, Indonesia.
The Center for Indonesian Visual Art Studies or CIVAS is initiated by the Aesthetics and Arts Sciences Research Group, under the Faculty of Art and Design, Bandung Institute of Technology. CIVAS was established in 2017 funded from the ITB Research Community Service, and Innovation Program (Program Penelitian, Pengabdian Masyarakat, dan Inovasi – P3MI). CIVAS serves two roles; first, as a digital repository which contains research and analysis regarding art practice, history of art, and art management and curatorship in Indonesia. The second role is as a research center, that brings together collaborators across institutions in multidisciplinary disciplines. Recently, we are focusing on the Bandung School documentation project that aims to build historical awareness regarding the significance of art development in Bandung.
